The Goldenstein Group is a multi-disciplinary research group focused on developing next-generation laser-based sensors for temporally and spatially resolved measurements of temperature, composition, pressure, and velocity in a variety of scientific and engineering applications. These sensors typically exploit laser-absorption spectroscopy (LAS) or laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) to provide non-intrusive, in situ, species-specific measurements at rates from 1 Hz to  > 1 MHz. 

Current projects are focused on developing sensors for studying energetic-material combustion, stand-off detection of explosives, and propulsion systems.
